The Iqon TR10 skates is a brand new carbon fibre freestyle boot with a Trinity mount. Who is Iqon?Whilst Iqon seem like the new kids on the block, you may be surprised to learn the brand’s deep-rooted history within aggressive skating. Starting life as ‘Disroyal’, they hosted the famous Bindlach open, created OUT skates, Pawn protective equipment and even had their own superhero in published comic books. Literally legends. Fast forward to today, 20 years or so later, Disloyal launched the original brand Iqon with an ambitious line of products fit for the most ambitious skater. The Iqon TR 10 fits absolutely in that category.Technical detailsThe Carbon fibre boot is lightweight and accurate. A standard for performance high-quality skates, helping maintain and develop your skills and speed. The carbon fibre cuff is rigid and responsive. Perfect for slalom and freestyle where absolute precision is required to perform tricks. Or, equally, useful for enhanced lateral support when skating long distances. On that note, the cuff is adjustable and can be set up in a higher or lower position. In lower positions, the cuff enables easier dorsiflexion which will benefit long distance, race and marathon skaters. In the higher position, the cuff offers traditional but superior support to plastic. Both the boot and cuff are reinforced with kevlar for extra strength when using them in the streets.Iqon used a “performance last to build the skates. This means the skate is narrow in the heel/calf area and low/compact in the toe box area. Width measurements are not available but heat moulding the boots is both advisable and desirable to alter the shape of the boot to your foot. Once complete not only will you be comfortable but totally secure with no unwanted movement inside. The TR stands for TRINITY (which also implies the classic mounting version will be available soon). The TR 10 uses TRINITY X no less, which allows for both lateral/medial adjustments and forwards adjustments, allowing you to personalize your strides, push-offs and counter any pronation or supinating. The ATOP lacing system is similar to BOA. Using a turning wheel you’ll be able to tighten and lose your skates with ease and have them secured relative to the ankle lock. The feeling this creates is akin to putting your foot into a bag of rice. The foot is supported from all angles, reducing pressure points and adding a pleasing sensation around your foot.The skate is vegan friendly and the quality materials sourced are eco friendly. Is this a Powerslide skate? No. Though it is VERY similar to the Hardcore Evo and uses a Powerslide Trinity mount, Iqon attempts to distance itself from Powerslide (but both are owned by the same umbrella company). What is this skate for? Slalom, freestyle, urban skating. The TR10 is a similar skate to the Hardcore Evo, FR Igor and Seba High Light Competition. Can I buy a complete version? Due to this, we recommend purchasing one full size bigger than your regular shoe size.What frames are compatible?
